Default My "New" Gen 1 .177 MRod

Got it a few weeks ago in a trade. I opened up all the airways, installed an Audrius regulator ($69), installed a SSS (short stiff spring) and did some refinish work. It's a pound lighter. Gets over 6 mags of 13.4's at 860. (22fpe) and is truly mouse fart quiet.

I don't think it looks too bad with a $70 CP scope on it.....

That finish looks very nice. What did you use?

Thanks Clifford,

The stain is a mix of Espresso and English Chestnut (Minwax). Wanted it dark, with a hint of red.

The top coat is Tru-Oil applied by 2 fingers. I love that stuff. It takes about 20 "light" coats but is tough as nails.

That truly does look great in pics so has to look even better in person.

Love Tru-oil....one of the easiest finishes I've ever used. Simple to apply, fairly quick dry time, builds nicely, and like you point out tough as nails.
